Farhad Paylakhi is a Co-founder and VP of R&D at 64x Bio.

Farhad earned his PhD from Tarbiat Modares University in Molecular Genetics and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. He served as an Assistant Professor at Damghan University before joining BioMarin, where he advanced multiple gene therapy programs through early and late-stage development and contributed to regulatory filings as part of the CMC and Analytical Development teams. At Resilience, Farhad served as Director of Gene Therapy Research, co-leading Cell Line Development, Genome Engineering, and Analytical teams, and collaborating with the Automation team to develop and scale a stable AAV producer cell line.

His research has contributed to the discovery of disease-causing genes using linkage and genome-wide association study approaches. Farhad has co-authored more than 25 peer-reviewed publications.
